Sagedipun

The word sagedipun is a derived form of saged, which is the Krama Inggil equivalent of the Ngoko word bisa (able/can) in Javanese. The suffix -ipun is the third-person singular possessive suffix in the Krama register, equivalent to the Ngoko suffix -e or -ne (e. G. , bisane). Morphologically, this formation follows a productive pattern in Krama Javanese: Krama base word + suffix -ipun to express possession or attribution to a respected third party. The use of sagedipun reflects the highly structured Javanese “unggah-ungguh” (speech etiquette) system, in which word choice signals the speaker's social positioning and respect toward the person being discussed. This form is commonly found in Classical Javanese literary texts, serat manuscripts, and kakawin poetry, as well as in formal keraton (royal court) discourse.
